Mina Bissel's TED talk・ミナ・ビッセルのTEDトーク

Another TED talk to recommend (and I was lucky enough to be involved in the translation effort for this one as well).

Mina Bissel, a biology professor at UC Berkeley, talks about her unique cancer research. Cells expressing oncogenes remain normal and not go into tumorous growth, depending on the environment. She suggests that we could deal with cancer by modulating the microenvironment around the cancer cells. She emphasizes that her unconventional background allowed her to challenge the conventional views in cancer research and discover the new aspects of tumors.

My favorite quote from this talk:
"Don't be arrogant, because arrogance kills curiosity, curiosity and passion."
She tells this to the students and researchers in her group. Such important advice.
